15 January 2024

January 15, 2024: Vaccination against dengue in Brazil: Select municipalities or territories or health regions with the highest prevalence of the disease for the introduction of the dengue vaccine considering the quantity of doses available currently. Establish epidemiological criteria for the selection of municipalities and territories. For this topic, consider historical data for the selection of municipalities or territories with higher incidence and capacity for laboratory surveillance and pharmacovigilance. Recommend the start of dengue vaccination for the age group 6 to 16 years within the range of 9 to 14 years. Strengthen communication to clarify to the population how vaccination will be carried out. Consider vaccination in municipalities with the capacity for epidemiological and laboratory surveillance.
