NITAG recommendations

10 March 2023

March 10, 2023

1) Booster dose of the covid-19 vaccine in pregnant women: Maintain the current recommendation for covid-19 vaccination in pregnant women at any gestational period considering the protection of the mother and fetus in relation to the severe outcomes of covid-19. There is not yet sufficient evidence for a recommendation for a booster dose in the third trimester of pregnancy for the purpose of providing indirect protection for the child as young as 6 months of age. Revisit the topic of covid-19 vaccines and pregnant women when there is new evidence or changes in the epidemiological scenario. 2)  Report on CDC disclosure regarding ESAVI with bivalent COVID-19 and Influenza vaccines in the US:   Maintain the current recommendations for COVID-19 vaccines, including bivalent vaccines, recommended by the National Immunization Program/Ministry of Health. The technical area of pharmacovigilance of the EPI will maintain the surveillance routine of ESAVI and events of special interest.
